Flinders is a community based service, meaning all that all families have the opportunity to influence the type, structure and philosophical foundations on which we are based. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and as such all income is used to ensure the continued improvement of our education and care programs. Flinders is managed by a Director and the Governing Committee. We are part of the Flinders University extended community.
Our centre is community based and as such parent and community involvement is vital. Parents are encouraged to participate in the management of the centre through joining the Governing Committee or a sub-committee. The Governing Committee is made up of eight parents, a University representative, the Director and two educators. Elections are held at the Annual General Meeting and meetings are held once a month to discuss and make decisions relating to the management of the centre. Responsibilities are shared to enable members to work together in a supportive and productive manner.
